original primitive conceptual sketches of what is now called LATTICE OF COINCIDENCE ... the inceptive protagonist was not a monkey at all ... just a crazy dude in a padded cell ... who could imagine his arm into a spoon, bend it with his mind kind of Uri Geller style, and entering into the distorted image with the assistance of his guardian angel pulling him in from the other side ... probably a little less surreal but still pretty much the same story ...

you may be asking, what is LATTICE OF COINCIDENCE ? or maybe your not ... let me tell you anyhow ... the lattice is an illustrated narrative, a story conceived out of the blue seemingly in a flash as lightning struck somewhere back in time in my teenage years while a Bowie song (Starman) played on the radio a candle flickered and an arc of electricity climbed up a homemade Jacob's ladder, that has occupied my head space ever since ... originally called 'psychotic echo' then 'psychotic echo in the lattice of consequence' then 'star repo' then a few other failed name attempts and finally i settled on lattice of coincidence ... (back to being inspired by a line from the film REPO MAN) ... lattice is a story of many things: of shoes and ships and plates and shrimps and sealing wax and so on and on ...  it's an acknowledgement that life is not a bunch of unconnected incidents and things, that there is a web threaded by the fates blanketing us in intertwined destiny ...all part of the hazy cosmic unconsciousness jive ... in short its a comic i've been working on and reworking off and on for decades that has met with flood damage, stolen sketch books and with its own self fulfilling self defeat ... now, in this time frame i've decided to revamp and resurrect this monstrosity ... at this point it's sort of a ghost of itself covered in a quilt of it's own patchwork reincarnations but is somehow more coherent than it ever was ... at one point an underlying / overlaying concept was that every image and every word was a parody of a song, movie or work of art to represent the connectedness of the world the story thread weaves itself through ... that concept is no longer 100% but is still an influential undertone ... so i give you an opportunity here to help me fund the time it takes to realize this completely unfinished project into a finished book ... what you get in return {from above} are nice frameable prints of future episodes' cover art ... what you get {from below} so far, is the cover and or the first page of the first unfinished issue of Lattice of Coincidence ... these will be hand signed and hand embellished a little with doodles and or scrawlings of hints of what's going on and what's to come ... offsetting what is a high price for a single page by turning it into an incredibly low price for a unique and hand signed piece of art ... time to test the words of Napoleon Hill that i always felt rang true "whatever the mind can conceive and believe it can achieve" ... and i believe art and love are panacea for this pernicious world we are restrained in ...more to come ...
